Local Olympians strike gold at State Summer Games

Carroll County Special Olympics has returned home from a weekend at Ohio State University for the State Summer Games.

John Evans and Johnny Krupzrak earned gold medals in bowling; Richard Champer and Gene Fankhauser received silver medals in bowling; Stephan Gatts earned a bronze medal in bowling; Brandon Hahn struck gold in the 50 and earned a silver medal in the shot put; Eric Prove received a gold medal in softball and placed fifth in the 50; Stephanie Long was awarded a gold medal in softball and a silver medal in 50; William Sutton received a gold medal in the 100 and was fifth in the shot put; and Sarah Hines earned a bronze medal in mini javeline and was fourth in the 100.

Coaches and chaperones were Tomi Moore, coordinator; JoAnn Hilliard, bowling coach; Dianna Fairclough, track coach; Renee Sprague; Sabrina Seal; and Brandon Hixenbaugh.
