On Aug. 12 Malvern Boy Scout Troop 155 honored its 123rd Eagle Scout, Joseph Allen Crowl at the annual Family Camp and Summer Court of Honor. Joseph Crowl is the son of Jeff and Connie Crowl. Joey is 17 years old and a senior at Malvern High School. He is a member of the track team.
The 36th annual Great Trail Festival, a celebration of American folk art, with contemporary and country crafting, is continues this weekend, Sept. 2-4. The event, a recreation of the French and Indian era, is held near the famous Great Indian Trail.
Four different fire departments responded to a structure fire in downtown Malvern on 116 Bridge Street at approximately 4.27 p.m. on Aug. 24. Great Trail Fire District Chief Ralph Castellucci was first to arrive on scene within minutes of the call to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
Born and raised in Malvern, Linda Cinson Faa has worked to give back to the community throughout her professional life, as well as her retirement. Volunteer work has been a large part of her life and is the cornerstone of her impact on the small community.

The fifth annual Carroll County Picnic in The Park is set for Sept. 14, 10:30 a.m. at Malvern Village Park. This event is for all Carroll County residents age 55 and over. There will be bingo, music by "Spikeman," lunch and prizes.

Aultman Trauma Services is offering a free community program called Matter of Balance to help reduce the risk of falls and increase activity levels among older adults. Many older adults experience a fear of falling.
