Members of the Mohawk Trail Garden Club met on May 16 at Griffiths' Greenhouse in Carrollton. Heidi Daniels gave a program on the best environment for many plants she showed and which ones do not attract deer.
Minerva United Methodist Church will be holding Vacation Bible School on Sunday mornings in June, with a musical program to be held July 2nd. The title is Heartbeat Hospital Vacation Bible School.
Israel's Lutheran Church invites children age three through sixth grade to attend Vacation Bible School on June 12-16, 9 a.m. until noon. This year's theme is Barnyard Roundup. Many fun things, along with creative crafts, are planned.

2007 Minerva Middle School students Corey Allen, Pace Walter, Justin Cox, Corey Schaffner, Ray Olander, Andrew Cox and Brendan Payne discovered and assisted Donald Rue who had collapsed on railroad tracks. Rue was on the tracks for two and a half hours.
Mark and Linda Cargill of Minerva will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 28. Mark Cargill of Minerva married the former Linda Lou Hull of Mechanicstown on May 28, 1967 at the Salineville Methodist Church by the Rev. Allen E. Rose.
The American Association of Retired Persons Chapter 1808 will meet Tuesday, May 23, noon, at the Minerva Senior Center at 1200 Valley Street. The meal will cost $6 per person. Non-perishable food items for the local Salvation Army can be donated.
The next free food distribution of Minerva Community Outreach will be held Friday, May 26, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 515 E. Line St., Minerva, across from East Lawn Cemetery. Registration is at 8 a.m. with the distribution following from 9-11 a.m.
Sunshine Circle Guild met Sunshine Circle Guild of Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville held its monthly meeting on May 8 at the church. It was attended by six members with Dorothy Yohe, hostess.

"Ezekiel's Call," a trio from Brewster will be at the Lighthouse this Sunday evening, May 14, 6 p.m. The public is cordially invited and refreshments will be served after the program. A love offering will be taken. The Lighthouse is located at 901 E. Lincoln Way, Minerva.

Mark Allen Chapman will be in concert this Sunday night, May 7 at 6 p.m. at the Nazarene Lighthouse located at 901 E. Lincoln Way, Minerva. Chapman is from Medina, Ohio and travels through many states with his wife, Thelma, singing the gospel.
Augusta Class of 55 holds reunion The Augusta High School Class of 1955 held its reunion April 22 at Classic '57 in Minerva. There was nine members of the class and four guest present. Mary (Stahler) Miller and Shirley (Hagan) Phifer made the arrangements.
First Christian Church of Minerva is hosting Church Security Planning and Intruder Response training certification by Strategos International of Kansas City, Missouri on Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3 at First Christian Church of Minerva.
The April 17 meeting of "Workers in God's Service" was held at Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville in the downstairs social room beginning with a luncheon of hot dogs, dessert and snacks served by Eileen Lotz, hostess.
The 64th annual Stark County Grange banquet was held Wednesday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m. at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Navarre with 85 in attendance. Judy Carrick of Pike Grange gave the welcome.
