Carroll Electric Cooperative, Inc. is celebrating cancer survivors, remembering those who lost their battle and fighting back against the disease by raising funds to help the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Energy-efficient LED night lights are now available at the cooperative office for a $5 donation per light. Proceeds from the purchase of a Carroll Electric LED night light will be donated to the American Cancer Society, where the money will be used for research, education, prevention, advocacy and patient services.
"At Carroll Electric our focus is people, not profit," said Larry Fenbers, CEO/general manager. "We live and work in the communities we serve and participating in Relay for Life is one way that our employees and board can give back to the community."
LED night lights have the Carroll Electric logo and an insignia that says, "Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back: Relay for Life."
LED night lights are available in two lamp colors, ruby red and bright white. Night lights are available at the cooperative during normal business hours, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. In addition, the lights will be available at the Relay for Life event on June 29.
Carroll Electric trustees, employees, members and their families have also started a relay team to show support for the communities where they live and work. Anyone who is a Carroll Electric member and would like to participate on the cooperative's Relay for Life team, please call the cooperative and express your interest.
Relay for Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
