Body searches find drugs

Three women arrested in unrelated incidents during a 15-hour stretch were accused of hiding illegal drugs -- one on her person and two inside their bodies.

Corrections officers inside the Stark County Jail lodged felony drug charges early this morning against Sherri L. Polen, 34, of 1200 Valley St., Apt. A-41 in Minerva, according to jail records.

She was being brought into the jail at 5:04 a.m. Aug. 3 on a Stark County warrant charging her with possession of drug abuse instruments and on undisclosed warrants from New Philadelphia and Carroll County when the officers made the discovery. She is accused of bringing "a crystalline substance" into the jail.

Polen was jailed additionally on felony charges of illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility and aggravated drug possession.
